Host Country Studies Sight-Seeing Trip to Thessaloniki - Grade 6

Tuesday, March the 14th was an exciting day. Grade 6 students had a Sight-Seeing Tour of Thessaloniki. We visited the Archaeological Museum, the Trigoniou Tower and the Palace of Galerius. Here is what they liked:

“…Dionysus and Ariadne…is such an amazingly detailed mosaic…it shows us the true story of what the mosaicist imagined…”
Kalypso Isaidou, Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki

“… I really liked the mosaic with the three Horses… they looked incredibly detailed, a fantastic work of art.”

“…The most important part is the Throne Room. This is where people from other lands or cities went to greet the emperor and discuss matters of importance…”

“…Ariadne and Dionysus, is such a big mosaic yet so detailed…the colors make it come to life. I admire…how much the ancient Greeks cared about making something look nice."
