Board of Directors

Pinewood is governed at the highest level by the Board of Directors which operates according to a set of Bylaws of the Pinewood Corporation, originally approved in 1999 and recently updated and re-approved in 2016. The Board of Directors is composed of the following nine members: four elected parent members, three appointed members, the U.S. Consul General and one faculty representative. The Board elects a President, Vice President and Treasurer from amongst its members, excluding the U.S. Consul General and Faculty Representative, in the first Board meeting after elections each year.

BOARD MEETINGS  

The school board meets  each month when school is in session (September to June) on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the school's Conference Room. The exact dates are listed on the Pinewood Calendar of Events and all members of the Pinewood Corporation are invited to attend.

  • Born in Thessaloniki in 1965, Nikolaos K. Margaropoulos is the Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Thessaloniki since 1996.
  • He graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Law School, after having studied for three years at the Law Faculty of Macerata University, Italy.
  • Managing Partner at SCIENTIA LEGIS – Margaropoulos & Associates Law Firm with offices in Thessaloniki and Athens
  • Mr. Margaropoulos is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish and he has a degree in the Sign Language 
  • He has been honoured with the title of Cavaliere dell’ Ordine della Stella della Solidarieta Italiana (knighthood), by the President of the Italian Republic and with
  • The FICAC (World Federation of Consuls) Medal of Honour 
  • He is also a member of various professional and social associations:
    • Consular Corps in Greece (President 2009-2010, Member of the Board of Directors since 2000, Vice-President 2005-2006 and 2007-2009)
    • FICAC (World Federation of Consuls) (Board of Directors Member 2009-2012, Member of the Legal Committee, Regional Chairman for South Europe – Representative at the signing of collaboration agreements with Prince Albert II Foundation and with the International Atomic Energy Agency)
