Mr. Todor Dimitrov - Member-at-large
Mr. Todor Dimitrov is a Bulgarian citizen, born in Russia, educated in Bulgaria, Austria and USA, who has been working and living in Thessaloniki since 2000. He holds a MSc. degree in International Accounting and Auditing, University of World and National Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria, a MSc. degree in Economics and Finance, State University of New York, as well as a post-graduate degree in International Development, Institute for Advanced Studies, Vienna. Mr. Dimitrov also hold 6 international certificates in advanced performance evaluations of programs, projects and institutions, covering a wide range of sectors, including primary, secondary and higher education.
Mr. Dimitrov has over 25 years of professional experience in International Development and related performance evaluations, covering a large number of sectors and countries He started his career in applied research in Economics and Finance, at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna. He worked for think tanks, the European Commission, an International Development Consulting firm in Austria, and the Austrian Public Service Academy. Since 2000, Mr. Dimitrov has headed the department of Independent Evaluation at the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, a multinational Development Institution, operating in 11 countries. His duties consist of rigorous independent analysis of operational, financial and institutional performance of large projects in a variety of sectors. This requires adherence to the highest international standards, as well as extensive knowledge in analyzing data, institutions and finance, as well as human interaction which requires cultural sensitivity.
For the last 15 years, Mr. Dimitrov has followed the development of Pinewood. He has three children who have attended Pinewood since 2003, and two of his children are still in the school, Kalina Todorova, Grade 11, and Christo Todorov, Grade 7. Using his knowledge of the school history, combined with his professional background, Mr. Dimitrov hopes to enhance and elevate Pinewood. Mr. Dimitrov was elected to the Board in 2015.
