    Mr. Athanasios Kouimtzis - Appointed Trustee

    Athanasios K. Kouimtzis, 1972, finished high school in the U.S., as a foreign exchange student. As an undergraduate, he studied Political Sciences and Business Administration in North Carolina and continued his Postgraduate degrees in National Security Studies and International Relations in the Executive MBA program in Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

    For four years, he worked in the Greek Embassy in Washington D.C. as an assistant to the Economic and Commercial Counselor. Moving into the shipping industry, he worked for two years in the World Carrier Corporation, based in Athens and in London.

    In 2000, he joined the family business. With a market tradition of almost 80 years -since 1936 - the family business is engaged in different sectors and activities. Today Mr. Kouimtzis is the CEO of the group.

    The family business is active in the design, manufacturing and trading of parts and components in agri-heavy machinery and in power motion for industrial applications, such as energy production, mines, geothermal, and hydro plants, chemical industry, etc.

    In addition, the group has been active for many years in the defense and security sectors by providing Armed Forces in different countries with integrated solutions in power trains, drive trains, vehicle upgrades as well as in observation, control, communication and information technology and equipment.

    Mr. Kouimtzis is currently an active member in different associations, such as:

    Mr. Kouimtzis is the father of a twelve years old daughter who attends Pinewood. His hobbies include golf and tennis.
