Pinewood is assisted by a number of important outside organizations that provide various forms of assistance:
The Office of Overseas Schools (A/OS), U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C., U.S.A., through the U.S. consulate in Thessaloniki provides annual logistical and financial support for specific educational purposes since the early 1960’s.
Pinewood has been accredited by the Middle States Association--Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1985. Its most recent Mid-Term Accreditation Review visit took place in the Spring of 2011, wherein the school went through an evaluation of all areas of school operations. MSA approved the renewal of accreditation to the school until May 1, 2016, at which time Pinewood will participate in a new accreditation protocol for the next 10 year-cycle
The International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, provides regular guidance and support for the school’s IB Diploma Program.
The Near East / South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NE/SA), based in Athens, sponsors separate annual conferences for administrators and teachers throughout the NE/SA region along with other professional development opportunities for faculty. Pinewood is also a Regular Member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS).
