Host Country Studies Trip to the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki

Sport allows us to engage in dialogue and to build bridges, and it may even have the capacity to reshape international relations. The Olympic Games embody perfectly this universal mission.

Visiting the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki was pure JOY, and a great cultural experience for our Grade 7 students. Their points of view help us better understand what Baron Pierre de Coubertin said back in the early 1900s, “May joy and good fellowship reign, and in this manner, may the Olympic Torch pursue its way through ages, increasing friendly understanding among nations, for the good of a humanity always more enthusiastic, more courageous and more pure.”

On the 2nd of February Grade 7 participated in an Olympic Museum educational program on the Olympics Games. Ms. Christina, the museum’s educator, guided our students throughout the exhibition, encouraging them to be inquisitive, imaginative and active.

We all loved the quaint exhibition on the Ancient Greek Olympic Games.
